I don’t know where I have been or what I have been doing to miss out on this little jar of amazing for so long, but I wish I was paying more attention when Clark’s Botanicals decided to make their Smoothing Marine Cream because my skincare routine could’ve been million times better a long time ago if I had. Now if you are like me and you didn’t know about this product, it is time to educate yourself, and this blog will be your guide. Although it’s pretty simple, get this wonderful product in your life, ASAP! Clark’s Botanicals has one of the coolest stories behind its creation. The man behind Clark’s Botanicals was severely injured in an accident that left him unable to walk and he couldn’t even sweat (which is important for skin health). Since he couldn’t easily take care of his skin, it started to clog and break out. Instead of accepting it and giving up on having healthy skin and feeling good about the way his skin looked, he consulted his father and together they made Clark’s Botanicals. The ingredient that sets this line apart, Jasmine Absolute Oil, can be found in every Clark's Botanicals products. Jasmine Absolute oil is extracted from the jasmine flower. It is great for skin because it is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. All Clark's products are focused on balancing out whatever is going on with the skin, and making it better with the best ingredients.  This product soothes the skin all day as well as at night. I apply it during the morning and also at night. This product canceled out any redness from hormones, stress, and acne and left behind the beautiful color of my skin. Now aside from soothing, it also gently and effectively exfoliates and smooths the skin. I know, it sounds weird saying it soothes and exfoliates, but it does and it leaves behind the most baby soft skin and even reduces the appearance of fine lines with its mixture of glycolic acid, algae, and yeast. This formula is so gentle you can use it on your entire face without worrying about any adverse side effects including the delicate eye area. This cream glides smoothly and softly over the skin when you apply it, it soaks right in and doesn’t leave behind any sticky feeling or oily feeling. I have never had foundation glide onto unprimed skin so beautifully and last so long when applying it on top of the Marine Cream. I love the smell of this product, it smells like a botanical garden. The scent is light and pleasant. It is just a great product all around, top to bottom. Seriously, I feel bad for my pre- Smoothing Marine Cream  - skin because it was missing out BIG time. This product does everything it says it will and leaves amazing, beautiful results for you to enjoy. Autumn is upon us. Summer’s warm weather and sunny days have made a bountiful harvest possible. There is no better time of year for the freshest fruits and vegetables. The principle of utilizing healthy fruits, vegetables and herbs is the center of what ilike skincare is about. ilike produces skincare products created from organically certified produce, which is grown along a thermal hot spring in Hungary. Adhering to the notion that organically produced fruits and vegetables contain the highest levels of healthy active indrigents. ilike’s products are developed using whole raw pulp, not plant extracts. The water within each product is from the local medicinal thermal spring, with an alkaline ph of 9.5. Only food grade preservatives are used to maintain the product’s shelf life. ilike products are free from animal by-products and animal testing!   I was sent three sample products for review purposes. Lemon Cleansing Milk: A non-foaming milky cleanser, suggested for combination or acneic skin, that removes makeup and hydrates the skin. Ingredients include: lemon oil, corn germ oil and vitamins B, C & E. I love the zesty citrus scent. This cleanser is best suited for very dehydrated skin. I have extremely oily skin and because of this amazing Indian summer, I have been maintaining my summer skincare regiment because it is still very necessary. After using the Lemon Cleansing Milk, my oiliest skin zones (nose and chin) still felt waxy with sebum. Skin as oily as mine may benefit from the addition of a toner, used on the t-zone post cleanse. My plan is to store away this cleanser sample until the winter when I am looking for a more hydrating cleanser to sooth my irritated winter skin. Rosehip Whipped Moisturizer: A thick whipped moisturizer that enriches the skin and soothes inflammation. Suitable for all skin types, but is specifically formulated for oily and sensitive skin types. Ingredients include: rosehip, lemon oil, vitamins A, B, C, E, K & P and thermal mineral water. A little of this product goes a long way. I absolutely love the velvety texture and the slightly fermented, yet richly fruited scent. Again with my skin being at its oiliest state, I avoided over using this product and only applied it at night. Just like with the cleanser, I will definitely be reaching for this product sample in the drier winter months when it will be the most beneficial to my skin. Age Defense Bioflavonoid Eye Cream: A hydrating eye cream, that absorbs quickly and is formulated to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Ingredients include: coconut oil, cantaloupe, elderberry, currant, grapes and mineral water. This eye cream is by far my most favorite ilike product I have tried and I will be purchasing this! I am constantly feeling unimpressed with eye creams and have been on the search for the perfect eye cream forever! My biggest gripes about eye creams are that many of them interact with either my makeup primer or foundation and leave residue or product pilling once I apply cream makeup products over top. www.kindprotect.xyz This eye cream does not interact with my other products and absorbs immediately. No crepey under eye skin!   My overall impression: These luxury skincare products have a price tag that may seem overwhelming but when you consider how much product you receive, how such little goes a very long way, it is justifiable. These jars and bottles will seemingly last you forever. I have been using the sample-sized products for a month and it looks as if I have barely put a dent in the eye cream or moisturizer. Because the retail sized jars last a very long time, my suggestion is to use a clean cotton swab or spatula to dip into the jars as to lessen the risk of bacterial contamination. At 56, I finally discovered less is more, and my skin never looked better! If you are like me, your “skincare” drawer was full of half used bottles of serums, masks, and various creams. Trying something new, loving it and then switching to the next hottest thing is a way of life for women over 50. We are all in search of the next jar of hope, never an easy quest. Once we find products we wind up applying too many at once. Wishing for the perfect combination, and never really knowing which products are working. Take the radical approach and simplify your routine, sticking with the basics will save you money and keep your skin looking fantastic!  After 4 weeks, I can honestly say my skin has never looked better (except for when I was in my 20's). In the Morning Cleanse - Why use a cleanser in the morning? Water alone removes only about 65% of oil and debris from the surface of the skin. I want a clean canvas with which to apply my moisturizer and makeup. My cleanser of choice is Keyano Lavender Milk Facial Cleanser It works for all skin types and contains Green Tea extract to help with my redness Eye Cream - Since we are streamlining how many products we choose, I like an eye cream that you can use morning and night. My problem is puffiness, especially in the morning. It is even worse after just 1 glass of wine at night. NIA24 Eye Repair Complex, it penetrates quickly and minimizes puffiness around the eyes.Moisturize with an SPF cream - Many of my friends use tinted moisturizers with some SPF protection, though not enough to protect you fully from the aging effects of the sun.  Replinix By Topix Sheer Physical Sunscreen Cream SPF 50+ penetrates your skin after a couple minutes allowing your makeup to go on flawlessly.  Always apply to any part of your body that will be exposed to the sun, including your face, neck, and the back of your hands. In the Evening Cleanse - Same as in the morning, apply your Keyano Lavender Milk Facial Cleanser  Serum - A serum is best used at night to fully penetrate our skin while we sleep. This item is the most expensive product in my routine, and worth every penny. Vivierskin Grenzcine Serum tones, firms, hydrates and leaves my skin glowing! Let it absorb into your skin while you brush your teeth before you complete your routine. Eye Cream - Same as in the morning, apply your NIA24 Eye Repair Complex.Moisturize - This product, like our serum, works all night. Glytone Age-Defying Antioxidant Night Cream was a 2013 Healthy Beauty Award Winner in Self Magazine. The peptide complex and antioxidants help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while fully moisturizing your skin.Bi-Weekly Exfoliation - At our age, Retinol and Retin A can be too harsh and drying.  DCL G20 Radiance Peel Pads are convenient and using them just twice a week provides the perfect amount of exfoliation. Just sweep them on your face, neck, chest and back of hands, wait 5 minutes and shower off. It's like giving yourself a micro peel at home and will save you money at the dermatologist.In the end, keeping your skin looking radiant and healthy is not as complicated as most skincare companies would have you think.  Try consolidating your abundance of beauty products into the simple 6 that work.  Cleanser (1), Eye Cream (2), Daily Moisturizer (3), Evening Moisturizer (4), Anti-Aging Serum (5), and Exfoliator (6).  Less is More! 

As a product specialist, here at askderm.com, there are a lot of questions that I get asked over and over. One of those questions is about what to apply and when. You now have all these wonderful products at home but how are they applied and when do you use them? Have no fear, I can help sort that out for you! It can be very confusing for novice skincare users as well as for advanced users the difference between serums, SPF's, and toners not to mention how to layer everything correctly.  AM Skincare - What to Apply & When Lets start with a morning routine. First use a proper cleanser and toner for your skin type. After toner apply a serum . Vitamin C or Glycolic based work better in the daytime. They tend to be more preventive , such as Obagi professional C serum great for counter acting free radicals that break down elastin in our skin and add brightness. Next apply a hydrator cream and eye cream that is specially formulated for the delicate skin around the eye. This will reduce fine lines and decrease puffiness. Now comes sun protection. I like the Avene Ultra Light 50 spf for the face. This contains Vitamin E to protect the skin and thermal spring water to soothe the skin from the harmful rays of the sun. Finish with makeup if needed. PM Skincare - What to Apply & When Continuing on for evening. Again cleanse your skin and follow with toner of your choice here I like to apply a retinol based cream. The Niadyne NIA 24 Intense Retinol Repair for example,  at night while the skin is resting offers an improvement in the overall firmness of the skin. Retinols do not mix well with the sun so use these in the evening. Again if you still feel dry apply moisturizer over ,and follow with your eye cream. Meg 21 Bright and Firm does just what it says . This will soften lines, add brightness ,and reduce puffiness. Remember just a tiny amount for this area. And don't forget your neck area. PM is the perfect time to apply a neck treatment. Wilma Schuumann Neck and Bust Firming Cream is applied in upward  strokes daily. So I hope this gave alittle insight to a healthy skin routine.
