Who we are and by T. ClarkHow important to you is it to know the company and it’s staff who provide you with your skin care needs? What are their credentials? Where does the product come from? How often is turnover of the products to ensure freshness?
We, at AskDerm, want to share with our customers and potential new customers our philosophy on skin care and how we differ from other online skin care retailers.
- v We established our company in 1997
working with Board Certified Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons to create an online presence for their practices. With the service sector of their revenue scales being diminished by health insurance fee schedules, we wanted to offer physicians a way to strengthen their bottom line by selling physician-only skin care products through their websites. This allows the physician to offer several product lines to their patients without staffing, inventory control, shipping, and returns.
- v We currently serve over 180
websites for physician’s practices around the country. We handle all web development, customer service, processing of orders, shipping, returns, and housing of over 2500 skin care products available through physicians and medical spas.
- v Because we are an
extension of the physician’s practice, credibility is of the utmost importance. Our Customer Service staff is made up of Licensed Estheticians (skin care professionals) that are trained on the product lines, ingredients, skin types and conditions, and many common skin ailments. We are trained directly through in-services through the manufacturers of each product line. On average, we have representatives come in to our facility from the pharmaceutical companies twice a month to update us on new product developments and trends. In September 2005, we trained on Sampar through Jamie Puntin, Obagi through Kim Hosenfeld, and Solange© through Lisa Hayes. Each of these representatives offered us full training manuals, updates on skin care trends, and new developments in their respective lines.

strive to make sure the products our customer’s receive are always fresh. We do not carry months of inventory in our warehouse at a time. The turnover on our products is between 30 and 90 days depending on the product. You, the consumer, are always guaranteed product that comes directly from the manufacturer and we stand behind EVERY sale. At any point in time, we are happy to provide our customer’s with the contact information for any manufacturer and the representative from that facility that we deal with. You may confirm with the manufacturer that we are one of their accounts and in good standing.

Business Bureau, BBB Online, Secure Online Protection for credit card confidentiality, and DUNS & Bradstreet.
